I am a student affairs professional with more than 15 years of experience supporting students through complex challenges that impact their academic success and overall wellbeing. My work spans student advocacy, case management, behavioral intervention, crisis response, outreach, and collaborative problem-solving. I spend much of my time working behind the scenes with colleagues across campus to make sure students receive coordinated, thoughtful support rather than being sent from office to office. Student success is a shared responsibility, and it only happens when people work together, communicate well, and recognize that every student's situation is different.
Before moving into Student Affairs, I spent more than a decade working in academic libraries, where I discovered that some of the most impactful work happens through individual conversations and helping students navigate systems that can feel overwhelming. That experience continues to shape how I approach my work today.
Alongside my work in higher education, I am pursuing a Doctor of Criminal Justice with interests in behavioral intervention, risk assessment, constitutional law in a higher education setting, procedural justice, and evidence-informed criminal justice reform. While higher education and criminal justice may seem dissimilar, I see them as deeply connected. Both fields ask similar questions: How do we identify risk early? How do we respond in ways that promote positive outcomes? And how do we build systems that balance accountability with support? I am interested in how institutions, whether colleges or the justice system, can move beyond reactive responses to create processes that are equitable, evidence-based, and centered on helping people succeed.
